Be Happy Penguin

I love my Memory Box penguin stamps. If I had to choose between the Memory Box Penguins and the Stampendous Changito monkey stamps...it'd be a realllllllly hard choice!

The greeting is part of a Hero Arts greeting that says BE HAPPY EVERY DAY. I just inked up the first two words. The layout was taken from a CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge on Splitcoaststampers.

Enjoy!

Another sketch challenge

I belong to (yet another) group called AZStampers. Mostly we chat online but also have met in person at some of the stamp conventions. One of the things we do is card exchanges. This card is for a swap called the Above/Below Swap. And it's just what it sounds like...you send a card to the person above you and below you on the swap list. I can deal with sending out two cards! Each time there is a "theme" for the swap (this time it was Birthday or Thank You). And this time they complicated it further by adding additional requirements.

The card was supposed to follow a particular sketch. It was also supposed to include:
A Sentiment
A Technique
An Embellishment(s)
Matting
Punches (or decorative scissors)

I wasn't sure I liked the sketch...but I ended up loving the card I came up with. I think it meets all the requirements too! For the "technique" I used "dry embossing" on the foil strip (but I cheated and used an embossing plate in the cuttlebug). The penguin image is from Memory Box (I love their penguins!) And the sentiment is from a new Hero Arts set I bought that has only greetings in it.

If you've never noticed, I have a "thing" for words. I love to read books and write things (stories, poetry, letters, pretty muchly anything!) So it's no surprise that that often comes across in my cards as well. I love unique greetings and it's one of those things I can never have "too much" of. Luckily, when all else fails...I can also generate greetings on the computer.

Hope you enjoy the card!

Valentine Penguins

I love this stamp by Memory Box! I chose to do a challenge from Kristine's blog. The challenge was to make a valentine and to use a sketch.

You can't really see the red behind the penguins very well...but it's stamped with red solid hearts and then I paper pierced around the hearts. Looks kind of cool in person. If you click on the picture it will become bigger and then you can see some of the piercing.

Well, TGIF folks...but it's time for me to head off for work.

Happy Hump Day!

Good morning! At least hopefully it's going to be a good morning...I'm going to have faith that it's going to be...lol.

My eye is killing me this morning. It started hurting yesterday. I'm not sure what's up with it. The corner of the eye feels like someone is poking/pushing it with a pencil lead every time I blink. It also feels the same way any time the eye is closed or pressure is placed on it. I'm hoping it goes away on it's own...but if not soon then I'll have to schedule a doctors visit. Don't want to mess around with my eyes!

I'm running out of cards to share (since I didn't make as many this weekend). I'm sure I can find some scrapbook pages to share though that you haven't seen. So, without further ado...here's my last card for this week. It was made for sketch challenge #146 on Splitcoastampers. It uses 2 background stamps from Stampin Up, the main image (penguin) is from Memory Box, and th saying is from Hero Arts (these should look familiar from a card I posted a few days ago). Not sure I like this card a whole lot...but it sure is patriotic! ;-)

Have a great day...we're half way through the work week! What do YOU have planned for the weekend?

Be Happy Every Day Penguin

Yesterday I managed to make 4 new cards...and I like all of them...so that makes it a good stamping day. I made two cards using the same stamps - but different colors and designs. So I thought I'd start with one of those.

This card uses my new Memory Box Penguin and the saying is from Hero Arts. It's one long saying...but I just inked up part of it and stamped and then did the other portion. I got the card sketch from Beate's weekend challenge

Sometimes I have REAL issues following sketches. I'm not good at partial layers and this one drove me NUTS to do. I tried several types/colors of papers for that area to the left of the image. Couldn't find anything I liked. The ribbon was the closest I could come and still be able to live with my final choice. I'm one of those people who like everything equidistant and centered! LOL.

Good morning?

Hopefully today is better than yesterday. Yesterday I spent the day in bed puking my guts up. So today HAS to be better than that, eh? ;-) I'm still feeling weak but I'm on the mend. Luckily I don't get sick very often. The last time I remember vomiting was at the c-section delivery 7 years ago! Unfortunately, anethesia and I don't get along.

So...are you ready for new artwork? Are you REALLLLY ready? This is a card that I made using my new Memory Box penguins. Sometimes I'm such a dork and don't think about only using part of a stamp. But if you can think outside the box you can get so much more use out of your stamps. For this card I used the kissing penguins...but for the side pieces I only inked up one and stamped it. That way they look like they are heading towards the center where they meet up with a kiss. Now I'm thinking I need an ice cube stamps! LOL! It never ends.

This card also uses little hearts from CTMH, Flourishes on the background (Rhonda Farrar?) and the saying from TAC.

I wrote a letter to the editor re: mental health and my friend's suicide. They wrote yesterday saying they planned on printing it but that that can change based on space. So we'll see if it shows up. I've had a couple letters actually make it in the past.

Ok, gotta go get ready for work. Have a great day all!

TGIF

I'm so glad it's Friday...although there is only 8 more minutes LEFT of Friday right now. I should be going to bed instead of posting.

Hmmm, what should I share tonight? Let's go see what I can find! This is one of my "stamping therapy" cards. I made it Tuesday night when I was feeling really sad. I used my new stamps from Gina K Designs, the saying is from SU.

And then this is my other "stamping therapy" card. I used to say that at least my stamping/scrapping was cheaper than therapy...but now I'm not so sure! LOL! These adorable penguins are from Memory Box (I want them ALL), there is a little red heart all over the background which you can't really see (that's from SU). I stamped the penguins first...then laid a heart stencil over the top and sponged ink around the penguins to form the heart. The word "kisses" is cut from some background paper I had laying around.

Enjoy!

A little cheer

Was feeling so freaking depressed that I decided to make a cheerful card to lift my spirits. It also occurred to me that the camera has some internal memory so I was able to take pics of the pages I took at Scrap Camp. So I'll be sharing more this week.

In the meantime...here is the cheerful card I made. The penguin is one of my new stamps from Memory Box...I want ALL of their penguin stamps! LOL. But I settled for this one and one with two penguins kissing. The flowers and saying are from Stampin' Up's Delight In Life set. And the oval under the penguin is from Amuse.

I'll start sharing the SB pages tomorrow.
