Simple Thank You

I've been inspired by all the "Clean And Simple" (aka CAS) cards on SplitcoastStampers lately. All in all, I like how this came out. I think, in the future, I would use a clear sentiment stamp so I could make sure it lined up better (or just stamp it once) but I liked the idea of fading it out.

Weekend Sketch Challenge

I decided it was time to play yesterday. And what better way to play on the weekend but to hop on over to Beate's blog and try her weekend sketch challenge!

This is the first card I made:



This one uses a main image from Gina K Designs. I masked the crab and tore some paper to use as a "cloud template" then I sponged the sky in. I also did a ton of faux stitching on this card.

And I had so much fun I had to try a second one:



Decided on this one not to use one big image but to use a smaller image and random stamp with it. I love this little pair of boxer shorts. The inside reads "A brief note".

Well, we are off to a birthday party at the YMCA. Can't believe the weekend is already almost over. Sigh.

Just so Hippy

Remember the hippo card I posted a few days ago? Well, this giraffe is from the same Gina K Designs set. The set is called "Just so Hippy". I colored this on Monday night while watching TV. Then last night I put it together while watching TV. I'm too pooped out to sit in my stamp room and create a card all at once...but I can do it a little at a time. I used to HATE coloring because I thought I sucked at it. But finding the right medium seems to be the trick. You get what you pay for. And man...I'm loving playing now with my new prismacolor pencils and oderless mineral spirits!



The brown cardstock is Bazzill. The rest of the papers/cardstocks are from CTMH. I used a coluzzle template to create the big scalloped edge. Then I went back and on the top layer I used a mini hole punch to punch each scallop in the center so the white shows through from the second layer.

I don't usually make girly cards...but my last two have definately been girly...all pastel colors. That is so NOT my style! But I like both cards.

Just So Hippy!

I received this image from a fellow stamper (thanks Jan!) and decided it was time to play with it!

This hippo is from a set called "So Hippy" and you can see the whole set here on Gina K's site. I love the giraffe and the hippo the best.



So...what do you think? The card opens in the middle...you untie the bow to open the card.

Gina K Sketch Challenge #2

This is for the second challenge that was posted on the Gina K forum on SCS last night (read posts below for more detail).

I'm going to give this card to our secretary at work. She's always grumbling about things - but she has a great sense of humor and will take this in the spirit it was meant to be given. All images are from THIS set...a Langley Boy Designs set designed for Gina K.



I put stickles (glitter glue) on all the dots on the panties so it has a bit of shine in real life. On the inside I stamped another phrase from the set that says "Just deal with it!"

Gina K Sketch Challenge #1

Last night Gina K had her Release Party to celebrate her new stamps. As part of the party, she had a couple sketch challenges. I decided I would just HAVE to play along (especially since the winner receives a free stamp set...and who couldn't use a FREE set?) :-)

The crab stamp is one of my favorite Gina K stamps. The saying I printed on the computer. The wavy edge on the right side of the card is cut with a coluzzle. The front of the card is actually about 1 inch short and the black you see on the right is on the inside of the card. The oval is punched with a Marvy Giga Scalloped punch and then I used a mini hole punch and punched within each of the scalloped areas and then the whole thing is popped up on dimensionals. I love how it came out!

When I saw this adorable set at Gina K's site I had to buy it. It's designed by Langley Boy Designs for Gina K.

For this card I decided to do paper piecing (stamping the image on patterned paper and cutting it out) instead of just coloring in the bra and panties. This card is a little "louder" than my usual style but I'm really pleased with how it came out. Most people I'd send a bra/panty card to would be people who would like the loudness of the design! LOL.



I wanted to do something fun and "frilly" with the corners and then had an "aha" moment. I used my SU scalloped circle punch and punched a circle and then cut it into quarters and used those as "photo corners". I also added red mini brads to the main panel and then the panel is up on dimensional's.

On to non-stamping news (gasp...there IS such a thing! LOL!) My dh is taking the dog to the vet this morning. (Mr. Sammie at right side of blog...my black ragmuffin of a ShihTzu.) I'm really worried they may have to put him down. He can't walk right now...looks like he's had too much to drink...can't seem to control his hind end very well. I gotta go to work (already two people out today) but told dh to call me and keep me updated. If they do decide it's something major then I'll leave work.

Feeling Crabby?

Then this little guy is sure to cheer you up! The crab stamp is from Gina K Designs. Love her stuff...specially her critters! The saying is made using Karen Foster Snap Stamps. The crab is actually stamped on the inside of the card. I made the window and the "frame" outside the window with my coluzzle (love my coluzzle too!) Apparently, I love EVERYTHING on Saturdays! LOL!

Without further ado...here's my cute little critter to cheer you up.

Thanks for Your Support

I'm going to attempt to add a new picture here. Yesterday it was a blogger issue. Then yesterday my DH messed with our computer and apparently all my pictures were lost (as well as some software that will need to be reloaded...so I don't have my regular photo editing software right now).

So, I'm saying, forgive me up front in case the photos come out huge or tiny. I'll get dh to fix it when he gets home but I wanted to go ahead and post something for now. The card design is a sketch from Angelosity's blog. So...without further ado...here's a new card!



The bra stamp and saying are from Gina K Designs. The circle background is from Cornish Heritage Farms (they have great backgrounds among other things). I pierced around the circle that holds the sentiment. I also added some stickles glitter glue to the frills on the bra.

And on the note of new stamps...I thought I'd show my newest additions! SCS is such a BAD INFLUENCE when it comes to spending money. They always tell you of all the sales going on. And it's hard to pass up a good sale! These stamps came from a company that was going out of business. Everything was 40% off. I couldn't pass up my Memory Box Penguins at 40% off! I bought the rhinestones thinking they'd be smaller. Does anyone know where to get LITTLE rhinestones? I want them for the centers of flowers, etc. And the Roadrunner Stamp is actually a different purchase. My kids go to "Roadrunner Elementary" and I've been wanting a Roadrunner stamp forever. I asked at a small store about an hour from here and they said they could order one for me and have it shipped. So, I paid full price for him...but hopefully I'll get lots of use out of him. He's made by Copper Leaf Creations.



Ok...guess I need to go make the kids breakfast and get the day started. I'll try to work on some new stuff this weekend!

Liz's RAK and A Little Something From Me

Yesterday I received a beautiful RAK in the mail. What is an RAK you ask? It's a Random Act of Kindness. Liz belongs to a yahoo group I belong to and is very talented. I wanted to share her card here for all to see.

She used a House Mouse image that I haven't seen before. The little mouse is inside the birdfeeder looking quite full and content...the birds are outside looking at him. She added dimension to the birds by popping them up...and each bird has a different area popped up...so, for example, the one in the middle has a in indent where his neck would be bent looking up...but the rest is popped up. Very realistic. She also added something like liquid glass to the birdfeeder so it looks like plastic or glass. And there is glitter on the flowers. This cheerful card is JUST what I needed when I got home yesterday. I hadn't had a good day and it really was a nice surprise! Thanks Liz!





And here is a close up of just the birds...hopefully you can see the dimension. I've never seen it like this before.

I added little glitter dots to the panties. Isn't it fun? The set also has a bra stamp which I'll show you tomorrow.

More Gina K!

Another new creation to share thanks to my new Gina K stamps.

This one is Sandy Claws. The whole greeting says "Sandy Claws is Coming to Town" but I only used the "Sandy Claws" for this card. I also used liquid applique on the coat and hat to make it fluff up. I had a really difficult time getting a decent photograph. Hopefully these two will do it justice. The sketch is from Beate's Saturday sketch challenge here.

Monday, Monday....

Boy, that weekend went by fast! ;-) I did't accomplish much. Saturday we tried to find the farm but wasn't successful - so instead we just went into town and ran some errands. Yesterday I did make homemade bread and chicken n' noodles. Took some of that over to my neighbor whose husband passed away. Her kids left this weekend so she's alone...figured she may not feel like cooking for one. I managed a few cards this weekend. Seemed like each was a struggle to come up with something I even somewhat liked. My stamping MoJo has got up and gone bye-bye. It'll come back eventually...it always does.

Anyways, in the spirit of sharing...here is one of the cards I made. It was made using this weeks sketch challenge on SCS. The red strip is actually on the inside of the card and the front of the card has about an inch cut away. The image overhangs the cut away part. The penguin image is one of my new ones from Gina K Designs. I wanted to color him with my black prismacolor pencil...but that pencil must have gotten up and walked off on it's own. So I had to use markers on him for coloring. The greeting is from CTMH.



Here is a close up of the image itself...isn't he a cute penguin? Did I mention my penguin fetish???? Maybe it's because I waddle like a penguin myself some days. Or maybe it's just the black/white color combo (hey, that makes them REALLY easy to color!) I'm not sure if you can see it but I used stickles (glitter glue) on his hat and scarf.



And to continue my penguin passion affair...I just ordered 3 more of the Memory Box penguin stamps. I found a company that was going out of business. All stamps 40% off. I wish they had more selection (I imagine they originally had more but it was first come, first served.) I got the hawaiian penguin, one holding a bouquet of flowers, and one in his swim trunks. The other one they had was a surfing penguin...but it didn't "float" my boat. :-)

A quick picture to share

I got this sketch from Reach For the Stars blog? I LOVE how this card turned out. Will share this quickly for now (since I already have it resized and ready) and will share more artwork and pictures of my reorganized scrap/stamp area later.

This uses the walking crab stamp from Gina K Designs. I stamped it twice. Cut out the claws from one of the images. Colored them in and attached the second set of claws with dimensionals. Also used stickles so the claws glitter.

Enjoy for now...and come back later for more goodies to share! I'll even be posting some stamp sets for sale and some other odds and ends from reorganizing my area. Hmm maybe I'll do some blog candy with some of those. Need to think about that! If you're a blogger and have done blog candy...tell me how to do it! How do you keep the post at the top? Etc.



Now, I'm off to have my boobies squished. I remember a cartoon where they showed a woman laying on the garage floor and a car driving up on her boobs. The caption said something about practicing for a mammogram. They aren't far off! LOL! Actually it's not as bad as you might think. Hardest part (for me at least) is getting my body to contort to the position it needs to be for them to get the picture right. Other than that, it's pressure...not pain. So...go get your mammo if you're over 40 or at high risk due to family history!

I'm so glad it's Friday...although there is only 8 more minutes LEFT of Friday right now. I should be going to bed instead of posting.

Hmmm, what should I share tonight? Let's go see what I can find! This is one of my "stamping therapy" cards. I made it Tuesday night when I was feeling really sad. I used my new stamps from Gina K Designs, the saying is from SU.



And then this is my other "stamping therapy" card. I used to say that at least my stamping/scrapping was cheaper than therapy...but now I'm not so sure! LOL! These adorable penguins are from Memory Box (I want them ALL), there is a little red heart all over the background which you can't really see (that's from SU). I stamped the penguins first...then laid a heart stencil over the top and sponged ink around the penguins to form the heart. The word "kisses" is cut from some background paper I had laying around.
