Sleep deprivation...

Ok...anyone have any tips for getting some sleep with a new puppy? He doesn't cry if he's in bed with us. And I wouldn't mind him sleeping with us except for the fact that he is SO small (all one pound 5 ounces of him) that I'm afraid we are going to squish him or send him flying with the tug of a blanket he happens to be laying on. So when he is in bed with us I sleep extra light. I put a box by the bed with one of our shirts and one of his toys in it. If he's sleeping I can sometimes stick him back in the box and he'll sleep briefly but then be crying again to get back to us. After almost a week of next to nill for good sleep I am exhausted. Tonight I tried to let him cry it out but I couldn't take it. So here I sit at 2:30 a.m. awake with him. Putting him in bed was pointless - I still wouldn't be getting any decent sleep. I actually thought if I could find a big box I'd put him in a box in another room so I would have to hear him cry and maybe I could get a half a night of sleep. But I can't find a big enough box. Ugh....

Well, as long as I'm awake I might as well post my next card. This is one that I made with my new stamp that my Secret Sister sent me. Isn't it cute?

This is another of the Stampendous Changito stamps. I colored it with my prismacolor pencils. I love how it turned out. My friend, who is a teacher, got this card delivered to her on the first day of school.

Ok...guess that's all for now. He's happily sleeping at my feet. Grrrr.

Some Girly Fun

I don't generally do many pink cards (or pastels) but I got this image from Seleise and wanted to play with it. I love how the card came out! Thanks Seleise for sharing some TAC images (The Angel Company) with me.

Now, I'm off to work. Another day...another few dollars. :-)

I got some Blog Bling!

I was given some bling by Nikki. Thank you !!!!!

Here are the guidelines:

1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to you.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.

For my nominees...I'd like to nominate the following people:

1. Linda - Linda was my upline when I was a Close to My Heart consultant. I'd never stamped before signing up. So she was my original "teacher" when it came to stamping. Go over and visit her new-ish blog and tell her to post more often! She does amazing stuff...just needs to post more often. LOL.

2. Ya ya's Mom - I'm not sure if she wants her real name out there or not...so I'll honor the name she uses on her blog. YYM (my 3 letter acronym for her) and I got to be good friends when we were both CTMH consultants. She allowed me to stay at her house during convention so I wouldn't have to pay for a motel. Isn't that sweet? Her sense of humor and writing cracks me up.

3. Liane - Another part of my former CTMH team. Go check out her blog for some artwork and her sense of humor.

4. Marcia - She's a part of my Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers group and she does AMAZING work. Go check her out!

5. Jen - A fellow designer for Clear Dollar Stamps (she also designs for other companies as well). Great stuff for inspiration on her blog.

6. Laurie - Our Design Team Coordinator...great artwork and samples.

7. Monique - And lastly, another Design Team Member. Love her detail work.

For the record, I really wanted to include my friend Concetta...but the only link I can find is her old blog on Blogger and I know she's changed since then. I thought I had it saved in my favorites. But I guess not!

Ok...now I really NEED to go get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day! We've ALMOST made it to Friday!

Monkeys Everywhere!

I saw a card similar to this (with the four cutout circles) on another blog and wanted to try it myself. I added another layer to the circles. It was a lot of work...not sure it was worth the effort! To top it off...when I got to the last circle on the cardstock my circle punch quit working. (Anyone know why or what to do?) So I had to kind of cut one out by hand. That's why it's lopsided a bit.

All stamps are from Clear Dollar Stamps.

Our Newest Addition!

Had to share our newest addition! This is Chewy (short for Chewbacca). He's a six week old shih tzu. Isn't he just the cutest thing?

Chewy and Dakota:

Chewy and Mario:

And for size comparison...here is Chewy with a can of Campbell's Soup (regular size can NOT the family size can):

We've only had him a few hours but he's doing great. I think this was a good age with the kids. They are old enough to love having a puppy but also old enough to be gentle with him and help with him. The Mom and Dad were both under 10 pounds so this guy should stay pretty small. He is dwarfed by our regular shih tzu and you should see him next to the shepherd/chow mix! Luckily she is the most docile creature on earth.

Anyways, just had to share! I'm so happy to have him!

Raining Cards!

I belong to a group called the Sisterhood of Blogging Stampers 4. I just participated in a swap with them and received some wonderful cards that I wanted to share with all of you out in cyberland. AND I made quite a few cards myself this weekend so there should be something new each day this week! So come back to visit!

Without further ado...let the "raining" of cards begin...

This first card is from Kelly L. It's the first card I received. I love the clean line and the piercing at the bottom of the card.

The second card is from Marcia P. over in Austrailia (one place I have always wanted to go visit!) She did some paper piecing on the dresses and hats and I love the glittery flowers. She sent me a variety of images to play with. Thanks!

The third card is from Deb over in Scotland (that's the coolest thing about these swaps is getting mail from other countries!) These images are very popular outside of the US and seem to be catching on here as well. What I love though? Is the paper piecing on this one and the unique cut of the card. Deb also included some images for me to play with. Yay!

Here's a close up of the image with the paper piecing so you can see it better:

And the last card I received is from Seleise B. The image is from The Angel Company. I love the pink/black color combo. Seleise also sent me some images to play with. One of which I played with yesterday and will be sharing later in the week.

Thanks to all these wonderful women! I love all the cards. It was nice to come home to a surprise in my mailbox. I still may receive more and if I do I will post them as well.

For all my visitors...you can find links to these ladies blogs at the right hand side of my blog under SBS4 - Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers 4.

Have a great day!

Helen, send me an email (there is a link at the top right of my blog) with your address and last name. And I will order Treasure Hunt for you!

Thanks everyone for playing and for visiting me. I feel so special out here in cyberspace.

Today and tomorrow I plan on playing a bit. I already have next month's stamps to play with (and I'll say that I love them!) but I also got a new Changito stamp from my Secret Sister that I haven't played with yet either. So I'll try to make a mixture of stuff so I'll have some I can share here on my blog for now.

Have a great Sunday!
