Another Riley card

I just love these stamped images I got in the image swap. Matter of fact...I've enjoyed playing with them so much that I went on over to Hanna Stamps and ordered two of my own Riley/Sophie moose stamps. After you check out you can send her an email and request first class shipping instead of priority and she'll refund the difference (that was nice). And I had them in my grubby little hands in a week's time. So I'm a happy camper! Yesterday I created 3 new cards with them. But before I share those...let me share a card I made with the stamp I got in the image swap.



The background papers are from a little 6x6 pad that my Secret Sister sent me. I don't generally use a lot of patterned papers because I think sometimes too much activity overwhelms the main image. But I think this works.

New Artwork...as promised!

I received this image from one of my SBS4 sisters and decided to play with it. It's colored in with my prismacolor pencils. I used stickles (fine glitter glue) on the "wings" (I haven't quite figured out these images yet...are these wings? Angels? So confused!) I also added glitter glue to the mini brads for a bit of glimmer. Isn't he cute?



I've been asked to demo at an upcoming scrapbook and rubber stamp expo! It sounds like fun...and a way to earn some crafting money that I can spend without guilt. ;-)

I received a wonderful package from one of my Secret Sisters today (I have two). She sent me this bracelet that she'd made with beads for all four of my children along with some stamping/scrapping goodies. It touched me.

I went to the doctor yesterday. My shoulder has been hurting for about 2 months...ever since my (then) 7 year old decided to jump from the top bunk of his bed and play "catch me Mom". When I caught him I heard my shoulder pop. And it hasn't been the same since. So I finally drug myself to an ortho doctor. They think I probably tore the rotator cuff. That's not good news. They will do an MRI and then we'll go from there as far as deciding treatment (conservative is anti inflamatory drugs and cortizone shots...agressive is surgery). I went to pick up the antiinflamatory meds last night and the prescription was $50! (That's with insurance!) I told them to keep it and call the doctor to see if there is a Tier 1 or 2 drug that they cover. Geesh...I pay $1000 a month in premiums and still have a $50 copay. I hate our insurance. I'll owe 10-30% of the MRI depending on who does it. I won't even go on my insurance/health care rant here. Ugh.

Some Girly Fun

I don't generally do many pink cards (or pastels) but I got this image from Seleise and wanted to play with it. I love how the card came out! Thanks Seleise for sharing some TAC images (The Angel Company) with me.

Hedgehog Thanks

I received this image in a swap. I believe the stamp is from Penny Black?



This is a really bright card for me...but I think it came out very cute. Hopefully hedgehogs are greyish in color??? Hmm, not sure on that. But it's what felt right. And if I'm wrong? Well, I have creative license...so I'm still right! LOL.

I have been SOOOO busy and have a LOT to share. Will try to post each day for awhile. So keep coming back!

High Hopes Piggy

The paper for this card I got at Target in their $1 spot. 12 sheets for a $1 and it's cute stuff! Both of my boys are into piggys...I may just have to make another of these and make them into valentines for me to give to them. I've already been thinking about maybe doing something simple for their classmates. I always have the best of intentions but then run short on time. But maybe some little bag toppers with candy for them to give out? Wait and see I guess.

Flower Mouse

I received this wonderful image from my friend, Virginia, on my ArizonaStampers group. I love, love, LOVE the House Mouse images...my only complaint is that they are SO LARGE that they leave little room for any layering/embellishments. To me, that makes them more difficult to work with. But they are OH SO CUTE, that I guess I'll forgive them for being difficult! :-)



I actually had a surprise moment this morning. I'd posted a few of my cards on Splitcoaststampers and someone left me a comment this morning that they admired my "coloring skills". I about fell off my chair. Now THAT is a compliment considering how I feel about my coloring abilities.

Well, I better get ready for work. Going to be a short work week. I'm dreading going in this morning, which is unusual for this new job. Normally I like it pretty well. Maybe it was just the extra day...gave me too long to get settled in at home. But I guess I gotta go. So have a great day all...and if you're staying at home today...take a nap for me!

Happy Hoppers

Sorry I haven't been sharing the last few days. Haven't had time (nor the inclination) to create anything new. Working 40 hours a week...driving an additional 10-15 hours a week - it really cuts into your stamping time. LOL! And honestly, I'm feeling sad too. And when the depression creeps around I also feel like doing less. So I'm sure it's a culmination of things.

But, today I DID create a few new cards (4) and I took pictures of a few other items. So should have plenty to share for the rest of the week.

I love how this card turned out. These Happy Hoppers are so cute. They are a bunny line of stamps made by the same folks who make the House Mouse stamps. I only own one Happy Hopper (the one in the bathtub) but have gotten a few images in image swaps...so that's what I was playing with here.



I colored it in with chalks. And I added glitter to the flower just to give it a little sparkle. Isn't it cute?



Hope everyone has lots of fun stuff planned for the holiday weekend. I don't have any plans today. Tomorrow I have to take my 7 year old to a birthday party for 4 hours at the park. No plans for Monday. Other than just getting caught up around here.

Umbrella Girl from Amuse

Is it Friday yet???? Boy this week has seemed long! I'm so ready for the weekend. When that alarm went off this morning I just wanted to curl up and stay in bed. Of course as winter comes and it's darker and colder...it just makes that instinct stronger.

Anyways, today I'm sharing a square card (5 1/4 x 5 1/4). I love square cards...but unfortunately they cost more to mail. Usually I'll make a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card and just use a regular card size envelope and then not pay extra postage.



The girl and the oval stamp under her are both from Amuse (the girl is a stamped image I got from the Wish RAK on SCS). I don't remember who makes the greeting.

It's a Bella kind of day!

I decided to dig into my stamped images envelope and find something different to play with. I don't own any of the Bellas (from stampingbellas.com) but have received quite a few images from swaps on SCS. I think this one is called Cosmobella (for obvious reasons!)



I used a couple stamps from a Michael's $1 set of acrylic stamps on this. You'll see the flower on the background and also the greeting. In addition I tried to add some interest by rounding the corners and allowing just the bottom edge color to peak out.



Going to be a long day for me today. Work till 3:30 when I need to leave early and drive an hour to an appointment that starts at 5:00 and should run till 6:00...then attend the neighbor's viewing from 6-7p.m. Can someone out there take a nap for me and do some stamping for me? Something fun??? ;-)

My first Bella...

Have you heard of Bella stamps? They are all the rage it seems. Bellas and Fellas. You can check them out here. I think some of the images are really cute, but I didn't want to buy any more stamps! So, what's a girl to do? She joins the RAK group's WISH RAK. What's that mean? It means everyone starts with three wishes. Then you can grant other peoples wishes for images. Whenever you fulfill someone elses wish...then you earn a bonus wish. The more bonus wishes...the more items you, in turn, can ask for. Anyhoooo...this bella image came from the RAK wish group. Ain's she adorable?



The background is embossed with a cuttlebug plate and the saying is from a SU set. I colored with my prisma pencils. I think it came out nice.

I'm also working on a new project that uses THESE...



...any idea what it MIGHT be? Well you'll have to keep coming back to visit to find out! I'm saving up ideas so when I go back to work on Monday I'll still be able to post almost every day with something new!

More Cards to Share

I love this image from Sassy Stems (a SU set). The problem is that I ONLY like this one image from the set (out of 3 stamps) so I didn't want to plunk out $20ish for one stamp. What's a girl to do??? Join both the image swap and the RAK image swaps on SCS!

I don't know if you can see the background sparkle...but I embossed the background with a cuttlebug embossing folder...then used a foam brush and put on white staz-on ink refill and a little stickles both on the brush and then brushed onto the background. So it looks a little aged but glittery at the same time. This isn't my all time favorite card - but I'm sure it'd be good enough to brighten someone's day.



This second card I DO love. And it's pretty simple. I was looking through an OLD issue of a scrapbooking magazine and saw a layout I was attracted to. I liked the straight lines combined with the curvy main image/title area. So I decided to make a card with it instead of a SB page using the layout as my inspiration.



The card size is 5x5 finished. The strips are stamped tone on tone with a set from CTMH called Citrus Set. The main image (glass of lemonade) is another image I received in an image trade. This one is from a SU set (I think "Sparkling Summer"?) The lemonade has stickles on it so is quite sparkley.

Just a few cards...

In continuing my efforts to stamp out depression...here are a few new cards.

This first card was created with an image I received in a trade. On SplitCoastStampers there is a place where we can post images we want and list what stamp sets we own that we can make images with. And then we trade images. The inside of the card says "for riding through the good and the bad with me". Computer generated of course.



The next card was also created with an image from a trade. On the background I used a SU set to stamp flowers (tone on tone). You can barely see it in the picture. I used glitter in the center of each of the flowers on the background. Also used glitter on the flowers on the main image. A very cheery card - much brighter than normal for me. Usually I tend to stick to the richer deeper colors.



I have a couple more but will save them for another day. Enjoy!
