"John Deere" Riley

This image is one I received in the Riley swap.

Last weekend I picked up a few more of the Copic markers for coloring. The way they work, you really need to have about three shades of each color for the shading to be correct. For example, in this image I used 3 shades of brown on the hat and you'll notice you can't tell. There are no lines or anything. But on other areas in the image you can tell that it is two colors or that the colors don't quite blend as well. Those are colors where I don't have the correct markers. There are only about a zillion shades and unfortunately I don't have a zillion dollars! But I do like how (when done correctly) it looks like the image was printed...not colored by an amateur (that'd be me!)

Have a great Friday!

Mojo Monday...on Tuesday!

Not only am I posting my "Mojo Monday" entry on Tuesday...but I'm posting it a week late. See...my Mom was right...I am always a day late and a dollar short! :-) A new sketch is posted here every Monday and I really like their samples. To see this week's sketch (which I haven't done yet) you can visit the blog HERE.

This was the sketch for last week's challenge:

And this card was my 'take' on the challenge:

Overall, I am happy with it. The only thing I don't like is the brown I used for the moose antlers and the teddy bear. It's too 'reddish'. But it's ok...card is still cute.

Well, 15 minutes before I need to be out the door and I'm still sitting here with wet hair and no makeup. Guess I best go and get ready (unless I want to scare my coworkers!) Have a great day!

Finally...a card!

Well, this is cheating a bit - but I do have a card to share. This is the card I made with my new Sophie stamp a few weeks ago but then forgot to get a picture before I gave it away. The recipient was nice enough to let me borrow it back for a picture.

Without further ado...here it is!

I used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder and only inserted the paper about 2/3's of the way. Then I embossed two straight lines across the top of that area. It's a little bright but I like how it turned out. The cupcakes have "fluffy" frosting (liquid applique).

I did stamp a bit over the weekend...and maybe I'll even share that with you. I showed one of the cards to my husband and said "It's official...my mojo is GONE"...and he agreed with me! LOL. So, maybe I'll show you one of my less than mediocre cards. I guess not every card can be a winner...right? The good news is that I started two others and I think they are going to be better.

Have a great day all!

Riley Roasting a Marshmellow

Happy Halloween!

This is the other stamp that I bought of Riley/Sophie over at Hanna's. I think it will make some great masculine cards...don't you?

I doubt that I'm going to get any stamping done this weekend. We are going to go visit my brother for the weekend. Let the kids play with their cousins. DH and I are invited to a halloween party tomorrow night so my brother will watch the boys for us. There are a couple friends I'm looking forward to seeing. And then we'll be back and thrown into the workweek again. I do have a couple more cards from last week. So those will be appearing on a blog near you soon! :-)

Have a great and Happy Halloween! (Am I the only one who automatically hears the Great Pumpkin (Charlie Brown) music when I say this?)

Meet Sophie...

I made two cards with my new Sophie stamp...but I gave one away without taking a picture...dang it! So I have this one to share for now. Maybe I'll sneak my camera in to work and take a picture of the other one (which I liked better).

I used liquid applique on the cupcakes for frosting. When you heat it up it raises and looks kind of fluffy.

Thanks for looking!

Another Riley card

(sing to the tune of the Band Aid Song)

"I am
hooked on Riley...
...and Riley's
hooked on me!"

I just love these stamped images I got in the image swap. Matter of fact...I've enjoyed playing with them so much that I went on over to Hanna Stamps and ordered two of my own Riley/Sophie moose stamps. After you check out you can send her an email and request first class shipping instead of priority and she'll refund the difference (that was nice). And I had them in my grubby little hands in a week's time. So I'm a happy camper! Yesterday I created 3 new cards with them. But before I share those...let me share a card I made with the stamp I got in the image swap.

The background papers are from a little 6x6 pad that my Secret Sister sent me. I don't generally use a lot of patterned papers because I think sometimes too much activity overwhelms the main image. But I think this works.

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
